Celebrating Accessible Futures: A New Chapter for Okuryangava Clinic

At Faith Abled Foundation, we believe in a future where dignity and inclusion are not just ideals, but everyday realities. Today, we are absolutely thrilled to share a significant milestone in achieving that future: the successful rehabilitation and official handover of the new accessibility ramp at the Okuryangava Clinic, on December 7, 2025.

More Than Just a Ramp: A Gateway to Dignity

For too long, access to essential healthcare at Okuryangava Clinic presented daily challenges. Patients, some with mobility impairments, and even staff, often struggled and risked falling simply trying to enter the facility. This was an unacceptable barrier to fundamental human dignity and care.

Thanks to a powerful collaboration, that chapter is now closed. The newly installed "mini ramp" isn't just a construction project; it's a gateway to safe, dignified entry for over 63,000 community members who rely on this clinic. It's a tangible improvement that impacts daily life, ensuring that everyone can access healthcare without fear or unnecessary difficulty.

The Power of Partnership: Making Futures Accessible

This vital project would not have been possible without the incredible support and partnership of several key organizations. We extend our sincerest gratitude to:

Umbrella Initiatives: For their crucial nomination of Faith Abled Foundation to co-fundraise through their network.

The Good Food Market: For their generous offers that allowed us to mobilize essential resources, recognizing the importance of supporting NGOs committed to community upliftment.

Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS): Their exceptional and swift collaboration in granting access within just two weeks of our initial contact demonstrated a rare public sector efficiency that made timely delivery of this milestone possible.

We also acknowledge the vital contributions of Makalani Boardworks and iExtol in bringing this vision to life.

These partnerships underscore a powerful truth: when we work together, we can overcome significant barriers and create lasting positive change.

Our Call to Action: Build an Inclusive Future, Together

The success at Okuryangava Clinic is a powerful reminder that accessibility should never be an afterthought. It must be woven into the very fabric of our communities, from the initial design phase.

We invite organizations, developers, businesses, and community leaders to join us. Take the critical step to audit your facilities for accessibility. Let's ensure that every new design and every existing structure is built or adapted to welcome everyone, without exception.

Through partnership with Faith Abled Foundation, we can scale this impact. Together, we can transform workplaces, homes, and public spaces, creating environments where dignity and inclusion are not just aspirations, but the undisputed standard.

Join us in building truly accessible futures!
